Compatible battery types for G55

Hi everyone!
The battery on my G55 is not working anymore after about a year of (almost) daily use.
I need to replace it but i'm having trouble finding a new one. It's a A42-G55 model, rated at 14.4V, 5200mAh, 74Wh.

Is it possible to use a battery with identical specs, such as the A42-G74? Or does it have a different shape that doesn't fit in the G55?
Is there any other type of battery that might be compatible?

My guess would be that the A42-G55 would be for the Asus G55VW, and that the A42-G74 would be the the Asus G74SX.

You should be able to find them all over ebay, make sure they're genuine.

Asus dropped support for the G55 recently along with a lot of older models. Ebay is probably your best bet.
