Hey guys,

I'm from Germany and I'm trying to buy a new G501, but I always end up at a spiting point between to product-numbers that are specs-wise the same. could anyone shed some light on this and tell me the difference?

G501JW-CN217H
G501JW-CN030H

They both are
i7-4720HQ
16GB ram
1TB HDD + 128GB SSD (would love to get the 512GB version but I can't get it in germany)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 4 GB

have a tek day!

I wondered about the exact same thing! 🙂
All of a sudden I picked the CN217H but would love to know where the difference is.

I wanted to search it up and see if I can find out the differences but both models are for Europe and more specifically available mainly in Germany (can't read German :/).

Normally when just the last part of the model name is different like in this case, it's most likely for better inventory control and RMA, so they're able to know just by looking at the model number that this model was originally distributed to which country.

Quoted from https://www.notebooksbilliger.de/forum/Notebooks/ASUS/Unterschied+zum+Asus+G501JW-CN217H+:

„ihr könnt euch einfach den direkten Vergleich anschauen: http://www.notebooksbilliger.de/produkt+vergleich/product_id/215817,223054

Im Prinzip ist der einzige Unterschied der Lieferumfang“

Looks like CN217H has a RJ45 port, where CN030H has a USB Ethernet adapter instead.
