16GB vs 32GB Gaming rig.

I am consindering if 16GB is enough or if I should go with 32GB - 2666Mhz or 3000Mhz.

The price difference is quite big, and could be used on more prominent upgrades. But I like to hear you guys
thoughs 🙂

Take into mind I will probably only use this rig for gaming.

I am consindering getting AX1500i, so I can go Tre Sli or Quad Sli in time. - Though its not set in stone I will do so.

Currently 16GB is more than enough for gaming. Although a lot of users try to "future proof" with 32GB. How much are you spending on your RAM?

since you did NOT put how mutch ram you wanted in your rig, thats why i replied the way i did about the 32 and 64 gig amount of ram.
pure gaming 8-16 gig. ( average on gaming rigs )
gaming and /or video rendering 16-32 gig.
32-64gig, video editing/rendering, heavy memory usage programs++++

My bad kkn 🙂 - And aye, make alot of sense 🙂

For the 3000Mhz 16GB, I pay around 315 Euro.

Around 276.26 Euro exstra Chino if I want 32GB 🙂

I'm not familiar with hardware stores where you live or how inflated the prices must be. But 315 euros should be equivalent to around 354USD. If you're set on getting 32GB, you can probably get the Ripjaws 4 2800MHz 32GB kit with that amount. If prices are way higher over there, you can opt for a 2400MHz 32GB kit.

592 euro that would be Chino. It cost around 592 Euro for 3000MHz DDR4 rams, or atleast around it.

For 16GB 3000Mhz = 315 Eruo.
32GB = 592 Euro in total, - Thats 277 Euro more or so, then the 16GB.

But yeah maybe I can go lower on the hertz with 32GB, still alot to pay for them. Or simply buy an ekstra 4x4GB 16Gb kit later, so I hit the 32GB 🙂

NEVER mix ram kits, will only give you trouble.

They are gonna be the same kits. Two kits of 4x4GB DDR4 Kingston Predator HyperX 3000Mhz. 🙂

If you want capacity, go a little lower on the frequency. 2400MHz is pretty much considered the sweet spot for DDR4.

Also do yourself a favor and get a single 32GB kit. Combining two kits is never a good idea regardless if they are identical or not. Here's a nice read for you as well: Don’t combine memory kits! The meat and potatoes overview
