I think not only the (Extreme-Z) because I have read reviews on the same problem with other M4EZ
and also with other models from ROG!
Honestly I'm happy with my board but I hope that Asus will solve the problem quickly!

    Angry

I have the Extreme-Z and am having the same problem. i'm not even over utilizing the ports. i have nextar hard drive dock which is powered with external power, usb 2.0 mouse and Blackmagicdesign Intensity Shuttle. The intensity shuttle isn't even plugged in.

anyways resetting the bios resolved the issue temporarily, but it came back again. this is some bull**** and Asus needs to come up with solution fast.

Yes, £300 pounds motherboard with such a basic and annoying problem is totally unacceptable!

    Asus please provide a solution!

Since yesterday I'm having this problem again, the board did not detect the mouse
    keyboard the external disk etc!
This problem goes driving me crazy, think we should all sign a petition and send it to the asus suport
to see if this problem resolved as quickly as possible, is annoying to have this problem on a top board.
I'm tired of this problem that seems to have no solution, I've had boards cheaper and did not give me
    so many headaches...

I honestly do not know how to take this idea forward!
Although my comment was just a rant i think we should show them our displeasure,
but I do not have enough knowledge on how to proceed.

I'vethe ME4-Z had have had similar problems with usb 3.0 (created a thread here) since the problem randomly fixed itself I've not had a problem with the usb ports (better not start again!!!) but it is a highly annoying problem, and since the problem resolved itself I've limited what usb are installed during the boot up process incase it was something at this stage that was messing it up ( a problem I've never encountered before) But apart from this im really liking the board, suppose a few hic-ups are expeceted

As you said 'randomly'. I do believe that it will reappear randomly though. I also thought that mine was resolved randomly, but it came back.

I found new drivers and firmware USB3.0 NEC / Renesas for our Maximus Extreme Z but had no time to install.
    Here is the link: http://www.station-drivers.com/page/...4_extremez.htm
Attention, if you will install the firmware read this first because you have to run the firmware in compatibility mode for: Windows XP SP2
    http://www.station-drivers.com/forum...p=11158#p11158
I still do not know if that resolves the problem or not, but I hope so!
    regards friend
