I updated the bios, still the same. I am running my i7 930 at @ 4ghz at 1.24 V. Could i have damaged the Memory Controller on the CPU? or is it the motherboard that is faulty? please help me.
never played with asus iii extreme but this is pretty common and can be related to various factors - all factors and solutions are outlined at - 2 common ones are cpu socket pins/cpu heatsink mounting and/or incorrect optimal voltages - cpu vtt and vdimm relationship.

proper settings can do wonders for memory clocks and stability
