    Boot Issues requiring Q-Reset

New Board and CPU but will not boot untill I press the Q-Reset Switch. Once I press it boots up and requires me to go into bios setup (F1) boots into windows 7 64bit fine after, but if I try to restart or shut down and start up again, I have to open the case and press the Q-Reset again befor it will boot up, once again have to go into bios setup and save first. Before I press Q-Reset the debug LED says 00, all fans are running and everything looks ok but hung.

It means something was changed on in the BIOS settings that does not work. You need to list you specs, memory model and how much memory is installed etc.

or it could be your memory has the wrong timings, or they are not working cold.

    Things to try...
Flick the ROG switch to OFF.
Reset the BIOS to defaults, save reboot and then try a cold boot.
Set to XMP profile and try a cold boot.
See if the memOK feature makes it work (see manual), and look to see what it alters. i.e. before/after.

Flick the ROG switch to ON
    Boot from a laptop.

    Flash latest BIOS

LN2 mode is liquid nitrogen mode... now that does sound extreme! What board do you have?

OK I found the cuase, after seeing the comment on your reply, " LN2 mode is liquid nitrogen mode... now that does sound extreme!" I went in and turned off LN2 mode, now all works as it should. Looks like my processor does not like the LN2 mode?
I have the Maximus IV Extreme-Z mother board with an Intel i7-2700K LGA1155 processor and Corsair memmory 16 gig at 1600mhz with the right latenzy. I think I have all the right stuff going for me but for some reason the processor locks and the unit will not even post untill I press the Q-Reset while LN@ is on. Thanks for your reply it ended up saving me from throughing this mother board out the window and gettingt one from a different manufacture. :-)

I have not read about LN2 mode, but I know DDR3 or DRAM is faster when at 85oC when below this is increases its latencies internally, when above in decreases them. LN2 probably tells it it increase them even more as Chips and DRAM probably don't like being cold. Just a guess... would have to google it to find out.

but anyway, slowing down you chips to allow greater MHz (to make them faster) is not going to work without Liquid Nitrogen to drop them to very cold temps.
