G751JT-CH71 Supposed to Have 1TB HD - Only 372 MB Available?!

I purchased a brand new G751JT-CH71 through B & H photo in NY - the specs said that it had a "1TB 7200 rpm SATA HD". I didn't use it until going on a trip - and during that time I started to download approx. 500 MB or so worth of photos to the HD and suddenly got message saying no more room on HD. Went to computer and the icon indeed it only showed a maximum capacity of 372 MB?!? I just sent a message to Tech Support regarding this. If anyone has had sim. problem or knows what the "issue/issues" might be - I would appreciate feedback.

That looks like a 1TB hard disk to m, and it seems most of it was empty. what was your source and destination in copying files?

Copying from CF card via card reader...to desktop. Question then, why does is show C drive as only 372 GB max space? I would think that it should show roughly 900 GB minus partion etc.(note I'm not super computer tech savvy - know the basics). The issue was when I copied files that reached that 372 GB limit...the C disk icon showed full/maxed out...and couldn't copy/paste anymore...

You hard drive is partitioned to C and D, C is 372.5 GB and D is 542.8 = 915.3 GB.
If you don't like them partitioned you can always merge those two partition and get only 1 C drive with total of 915 (but I wont recommend that)

ReDFoX2200 et al - Curious about that, I don't recall ever having any of my computers ( half a dozen or more... note stock/off shelf units with single hard drives) partioned that way...always the C drive showed the max/avail. capacity of the HD. Do you have some idea as to the rationale for this...do you know? And is the workaround is to in future if doing similar task "copy data" to Data Drive? Seems odd to me. What would be downside to merging? Thanks for input.

Yes mostly to keep your OS Partition small for easy quick Images to restore if you screw up.
There is absolutely no reason if you want, to just merge the 2 partitions in to 1 Mini tool Partition Wizard is free and makes it easy to accomplish this. I would advise moving any data off the D partition before you Delete D Partition then expand C into the unused space.
