Upgrading the G20 AJ - GTX750/8gb Ram model

First post.

After using the G20 AJ for some time now, I can properly evaluate its overall.

I'll need to upgrade a few things in this machine, and I am looking for advice as to what parts to get. (Yes, I'm aware of the warranty voids)

1) Ram to 16gb
2) CPU to the i7-5820K

So far these are the only problem areas I have noticed, overall game appearance and frame rates seem fine for the games I play, I would imagine I'll upgrade the graphics card once the Multiplayer of Doom is out in spring 2016.

Based on my intention of upgrade to the CPU and Ram:

  • How should I go about this?
  • What parts should I buy?
  • Will I need an additional power supply in order to complete this?
  • Will I need to replace the motherboard?

    • If I replace the motherboard, should I just take everything out and place it into a different tower?

I would appreciate links to products if anyone has suggestions.

Regards,

you can not upgrade the CPU witch currently is LGA1155 on the chipset you have to a LGA2011 CPU.
2 diffrent chipsets.
if you want to "replace" best is to build your own pc.

So I would need the Intel Core i7-3770K if I chose the i7 route, is this chip going to hold up for "next gen" games?

here is a few options you can choose from when you want to upgrade.
all in all it will end up on how the PSU will handle the upgrade.
i dont know the machine you have or enny thing about it.
this is just pure guessing and shots in the dark.

personaly i build my own pc so i get it the way i want and can upgrade when ever i want and not be locked down by cases that is made for the parts ( pre built pc's ).
