Drives full under SCSI because of SAS which the R4E is missing/removed from the x79 chipset.

Yep its because x79 intel drivers support SAS which is Serial Attached SCSI which runs of the same controller until intel adds some way to tell them apart it will remain like it is.

    From Intel:

Thank you for contacting Intel® Technical Support.

Please be aware that this email address is for post-sales technical support on mainstream Intel® Architecture (boxed) products only.

You require assistance for an integrated/embedded Intel® Matrix Storage Manager on a non-Intel motherboard. As Hardware and software are customized by OEM manufacturers and validated as an entire system, we advised you to contact your motherboard manufacturer in order to acquire the appropriate support or drivers. Should you also need further technical assistance, your system manufacturer should be in the position to help you.

In case your system manufacturer advised you to download drivers for the Intel® Matrix Storage Manager from our website, these can be found on the following link:

    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Sear...age+Technology

However, we only provide generic drivers. We cannot take any responsibility for its functionality, as we do not know if the system manufacturer has changed our original configuration.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Kind regards,

    Walter V.

overdriven12 its not related to ASUS in any ways all x79 chipset storage controllers have this problem if you want intel to help just say it related to one of there boards, Also i don't see the big deal about it those programs need to be updated to support X79 drivers.

Hmm.. Intel says all the time "please contact the Asus support" -> The Asus Support says "Please contact the Intel Support" i mean wtf -.-

IT IS a big deal because S.M.A.R.T & TRIM doesn't work and my SSD is slower than ever before.

Also there is a different Driver size ->

    Intel driver: ~25MB
Driver on the Asus Site: ~260MB

So Intel is right that Asus change something in the drivers.

No not at all Asus package is bigger because it supports all versions of windows and other boards, when you download from intel you only download for that version of windows you select, All asus does is repack intels drivers in a asus installer so dont go blaming asus for problem with intels drivers.
