You'll understand that if we're here, it's because we're proud of our not-so-perfect G-series Asus. You'll get a more receptive audience here:

+1! true!
the g74 appeared during spring, and in august it saw a little spec up! (better CPU, more RAM, and backpack and mouse) (same GPU beacuse it cannot be exchanged and the performance to the 570m is the same.
IMHO, asus will deliver the g75 with another GPU and new i7s.
But generally speaking for the price you won't get any other contender like Clevo or MSI.
P.S. Here in portugal de Mx18x (which is the only model currently on sale) is worse on everything! CPU, RAM, GPU the same. And they ask for 2200eur! Mine was 1700.

What is Alienware support like? Do they issue BIOS"s when needed? Have they ever recalled a pc because a major part was faulty; ie touchpad, or something not easily replaced by the user? Just curious...

Alienware is just a subsidiary of Dell, isn't it? I wonder if they share support resources.....
I've never heard of ANY laptop recalled for bad design, crappy parts, or lack of functionality. Really. The only recalls I've ever seen are for batteries or power transformers that are determined to present a potential fire risk. (Even Apple had to recall a battery once.)
So apparently, their motto for customers should be "Whatever doesn't kill you, will make you stronger."
