Hi everyone, I had this computer built over a year now through a friend that have done it before but he never done a computer for OC.

Motherboard: MAXIMUS VI IMPACT
Processor: I7-4770K
Memory (part number): KINGSTON 16GB 1600MHZ DDR3 CL10 HYPERX
Graphics Card #1: GIGABYTE R9 270 X 2GDDR5
Monitor: 2X HP2311x
Storage #1: SAMSUNG SSD 250GB SERIE 840 EVO BASIC
Storage #2: HDD WESTERN DIGITAL 1TB SATA III 64MB - BLUE
CPU Cooler: TACENS GELUS LITE III+
Case: CORSAIR OBSIDIAN 250D
Power Supply: CORSAIR VS650 650W
Keyboard: LOGITECH WIRELESS MK270
Mouse: LOGITECH PERFORMANCE MX
OS: WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM 64bits

These spec were suggested by him but since I had it, I haven't be able to OC, maybe because I'm a total nob but sure, It can't be that difficult. I have been reading a bit and watching few videos and everytime I try, it goes in BSOD (doing from AL suite 3 or from the bios).
I took it to a shop while working abroad and they suggested that the CPU cooler wasn't good enough and told me to buy the "Hydro Series H100i", I ended up buying it and it's been a waste of money because it still going into BSOD even with as little as 4.0 ghz.

I will really appreciate if any of you could bring some light!!

Thanks and sorry for my english

Hi, thanks so much for your help. It's so frustrating. I went into the Bios and sync all cores to @ 4.3 and crashed, what i've got.

Thanks again

The 0x124 code is typically a CPU instability problem, mostly from insufficient Vcore voltage.

Try 4.0GHz for starters and slowly raise your CPU voltage until you achieve stability.

Storage: WD Blue SN550 2TB NVMe M.2
EVGA SuperNova 1200 P2
ASUS ROG Strix Helios GX601

Thanks, I've sync all cores to 4.0 and increase the vcore slighty to 1.170 v. Then I did the Realbeanch test and completed the test and looks fine.

Is it recomended to uninstall "AI suite 3" as kkn said?

why are u being so conservative with your voltage >? Increasing voltage up to anything around 1.30v is completely safe the reason your besoding is because running at anything over 4ghz usually always takes 1.25 volts minimum, its ur voltage its nowere near enough to support all those cores running anything up to 1.30-1.35cpu voltage is completely safe, as long as u have water cooling and your temps aint going above 80c gl with your oc.

Oh and one last thing the best way to oc so your not sat there all day playing with different settings is setting your oc to a good 1.30volts then crank your ratio to 45 times your baseclock 100 if it posts at that and gets into windows do a stress test like prime 95 for 30 mins and some gaming with the program real temps to make sure your water cooling is keeping it from going past 80-85c if you dont oc to 4500mhz then that corsair h100i is a complete waste thats what they are for to get 4500-4900mhz oc's

hey nemesischild what vcore did u use to acheive that 4.7ghz on your 4790k

4.7GHz ---> 1.35v

You should run RealBench stress test to check stabliliy, not the benchmark.

Thanks, been doing what you told me. After that first stress test at 4.0 (it when well). Now I'm trying to raise the clock to 4.2 and vcore to 1.18 from the BIOS (very conservative, I know!!) Want to go step by step

Did a new stress test 15 min and all when well. Temp for cpu around 50º.

I'll keep playing with this and will post any update.
Thanks to both of you for your help.
