I have a curious question for anyone who wants to respond.

Do you all only use the drivers provided by Asus on the support page, Or do you use updated drivers provided by Realtek?

If so do you have any issues?

my on-board audio ports stopping being recognized so I use an usb sound card. No need to update your audio drivers unless you are having problems. But if you want to try this place

I run RealTek's drivers, because the provided drivers had many problems in Win8.1 (couldn't differentiate between 2, 4, and 5.1 speaker configurations).

I have updated latest Realtek Driver and they work perfect. I use also the Sound Blaster X-Fi MB3 software and seriously the sound i hear now is CRYSTAL CLEAR. Great sound quality with that software.

The drivers supplied by asus are generally outdated, always best to get the drivers supplied by the direct manufacturer of the supporting motherboard components.
