Question Reclaim locked recovery partition upon Win10 upgrade?

I have a G751 and there's about 15GB of locked SSD space on there which is a recovery partition. This can not be removed for some reason so I wonder, would the Win 10 upgrade free this space?

You should run software like Gparted OUTSIDE of windows to be able to see that partition, delete and format it or join it to an existing partition ( which may time some considerate time, min~hour ). Gparted is found in every respected linux distro like ubuntu - so just make a live-cd on an usb, reboot and use it.
However, there free tools to perform all of this while in windows like partitionwizard, EaseUS Partition Master, paragon partition manager.
Although I can suggest to re-partition the HOLE disk, as the C drive size is huge in respect to the max you'll ever utilize - so I suggest to make a "Data" partition and save all your files there, while retain about 80-100GB to the OS.

People have tried that and their laptop wouldn't boot anymore. Everyone in that thread kinda agreed on not being able to remove the partition. AFAIK there is no way to get that 15GB back while running Win8 and I am not even tempted to try it so the question is still, will it be possible with Win10 because that's then a redundant backup partition?

I was able to delete the recovery partition after upgrading to Win 10.
