Optical out question

hello hello,
I plan on getting another set of headphones and I would like to use a dac/Amp utalizing the optical out rear port on the MB.
This is the amp,

I dont have much experience with spdif/optical out.
Would this work?
Also, is there anything I have to do to enable that port or anything?

Just change the default settings in windows audio manager and plug it in,
