That is the issue. The ADATA SP 900 is a SATA interface M.2 drive. As stated in the specifications and user manual for the R5E only PCIe interface M.2 drives are compatible.

Sorry for the delay...had to catch some sunshine on the beach

Anyhow just did a quick check (nothing too time consuming) - cleared CMOS, loaded optimal settings (defaults) and changed the following things:
    -Set BCLK to 125MHz
-Synced all cores to 36x multiplier
    -Vcore to 1.25V
-DRAM to 2200MHz (somewhere around that speed, from the drop menu)

Did not change anything else (no UEFI quick boot, PCIe settings, etc...), everything stock.

Restarted 5 times and it always booted fine. Guess it has something to do with the memory and XMP profile. It's just strange to me that going into BIOS
and exiting enables my system to boot flawlessly all the time, but doing it the regular way does not

I think the CPU OC is fine...If I remember correctly the issue did start to appear when I enabled XMP. Any suggestions? SA voltage? Kinda hate doing
that, since it will take me forever (with verification - stress tests).
BCLK set to 100MHz with XMP - would it be better?

If you think XMP might be a bit dodgy....copy down first secondary and tertiary timings and input them and RAM speed manually

And sure try 100 BCLK and settingup manually...you might be surprised

I have almost the same problem.
My system is being unstable since a week ago .
When i start up i have no icons at all . they come after a min or so on a ssd ADATA 128GB .starting up is a real problem since then .
IAlso since then i have problems with my Razer Mouse and Keyboard.
I did a format so again Windows 8.1 Pro install went ok no problem but then when i had to put my personal info my keyboard and mouse went off could not fill in nothing.plugd in my keyboard and mouse in a other usb.no result. after all it seem to work after trying to plug in other usb's.
After that seems to work.installation went ok from Windows then again i had a fast boot.untill i start updating again.system became unstable again.
takes like a min to start when i come in windows no icons at all .Software seems to have problems at start up.
When the computer started up there are no issue's anymore.
    This is weird stuff.
    Many regards
    Jim.

PS : Sorry for my english im a little nerves from all this.
iam also getting the same when i switched from my 840 Evo PRO to M.2 ssd

    M. 2 was installed for 2 weeks all fine and then last Friday when i start up i have no icons at all . they come after a min or so starting up is a real problem since then as very random and wont reboot.
Also since then i have problems with my Razer Mouse and Keyboard and many programs with dll errors . Also some windows icons are blank white pages

i am now on my 3rd attempt of w8.1 installation left bios on default settings and have not installed windows updates lets see how it goes

Really thought this was my M.2 SSD but now i see other people have the same issuse on standard ssd's

Wonder if its a windows update causing this

    Hi all...

Have an update on the matter - I've solved it. The windows loading screen freeze is OK now, and...
...It had nothing to do with the OC!

I started to lower my OC and doing reboots every time I did a step and I was always getting stuck on the loading screen. Until I reached almost stock levels, than it got me.
I've cleared CMOS and tweaked the boot settings (like I always did!) and here it was again. So I started fresh and checked every option whether it had any impact on the windows boot.
Found the reason - SATA support and its Boot drive only option. If I save with the "Boot Drive Only" option, windows loader always freezes.

Was really taking those options too easy, and pushing everything towards minimal boot time... Probably those settings do not apply if you are booting from M2 do they?

Anyhow, really thank you guys for digging into the problem and lending a helping hand. TNX again!
