The R4BE is a beautiful board and love it planning on running the system for 3 years. Tested the CPU on 2 x R4BE boards. Discovered week ago my PSU Corsair AX 1200w was bad. The front power on and reset switches stopped working, Lamptron Switches. Had to use the power on button on the R4BE to start the system.
For 12 months the O.C. was 4.4 Ghz V-Core 1.300v Memory at 2133 Mhz never had a BSOD passed P-95 for 24 hours and ROG Real Bench 2.41 stress test.
When the power on and reset switches stopped working the
I 7 4930K required more V-Core from 1.300v to 1.345v clocked at 4.4 Ghz. memory 2133 MHz ran the system for 3 weeks. Should have shut the system down until I had the funds for the new hardware.
Replaced the PSU with a Corsair AX 1500 i and the switches. Working properly.
Currently the I 7 4930K at 4.4 Ghz V-Core 1.375v will not pass ROG Real Bench for 15 Minutes. Not stable with the memory set at 2133 Mhz had to reduce the memory to 1600Mhz. Will Pass ROG Stress Test. Will not pass 15 seconds stress testing with the memory at 2133 MHz.
The CPU seems to be stuck on 1600 Mhz. Pulled 2 sticks of memory and tried 2133 MHz with 8 Gbs. Not stable same results.
Should I wait and see what the I7 4930K does or purchase a new system?
Cost more to replace the I7 4930K or I7 4960X and pay shipping and import tax than a new Mark 2 M/Board and a I7 4790K CPU.
Should I purchase a LGA 2011-V3.
Have 2 x GTX 780 S.C. editions.
