    Good, inexpensive ripper? Try Makemkv.

    Try using MakeMKV. It's free and fast, and the MKV is readable directly by most video players. Take a look at at at makemkv.com. I'm not in any way related to the company, but I have used the software to rip my DVD and blue-ray collection to my drive (well over 200 movies) without any issues.
