g501 gaming fps and throttling?

Hello everyone.
Im new to the forum.

I Have noticed on the asus g501 throttling of cpu at 86 while gpu at 79

And i thought that games would not use cpu that much..

So if i choose a power plan in the windows setting.. (high performance, balanced, powersaving)
While Setting the maximum processor power managment to 70%.. would this give a better performance and
More solid fps with less throttling or it will be of no difference.. and is it safe to use lower processor power in gaming
While returning it to normal setting during normal desktop use.

the thorttling starts with gpu , and if the gpu thorttle your fps drop. cpu doesnt matter.

the only option is to ask asus for a beta bios that tweak the temperature , atm i dont know.
if u can send asus support a email too so they make it.

i aleardy send it but no reply now.

I noticed reducing the cpu frequency this reduce the cpu throttling and this stop it reaching as low as 800 mhz. which lead less
sudden drops in fps and gpu doesnt reach 980 mhz and keeps above 1057..
I just need some confirm as i cant see if it reallly show a big difference or if it shows a difference after time of gaming
.in other words .. when cpu has less frequency it will have less heat and so less gpu heat as they share heat .
Is this information true or not as i cant find a clear information online
What are your temps during gaming like watcj dogs or gta v or any heavy game

hmm intresting, i try it.

okay your theory is correct , by reducing the cpu performance the heat generates doesnt even exceed 77C and make the gpu can push the stable performance
im on 70% policy performance and i recommended it to 50% if you want to try it .

strange but it still the same, asus needs to up the temp lock.

what an ugly truth

Edit : nope still reach 79C on Withcer 3 , only in some games.
Edit 2 : Doing 50% performance policy never reach 79C on Witcher 3 (High Setting)
Edit 3 : Doing 50% performance policy never reach 79C on GTA 5 (High Setting)

all Resolution is on 1920x1080

How is the performance on 50 percent cpu... is it better fps
Is it safe to reduce the cpu on gaming and returning it to normal on desktop use on a long term scale

it's safe , really OCing what makes the cpu gets broken not downclocking it.

and what about the frames.. did you see any improvment

pretty much the same , just no thorttling . or sudden fps drop.
