PULLING...MY...HAIR...OUT! - OS, Windows Crash Issues 8.1/10

GAHHHHH!!!

Hello I could really use some help if someone could offer some time to review the following situation below:

it all happened when I upgraded my windows 8.1 64 bit pro edition to Windows 10 64 bit pro addition

everything was going great with the update process and install and I had the system running with a couple of issues

Issue 1, plug and play a, component of hardware was being picked up and dropped by the plug in play setting, with a cycle of about 10 to 8 minutes, could be wrong in my opinion this signals that a driver was incompatible with Windows 10

issue 2, if the system was left idle for 15 minutes or was not logged in to right away the system would become leggy or unresponsive to human interface with mouse or keyboard

I put up with this for about a week and decided that on my holidays I would do a clean install

I did the clean install by creating a boot using a USB stick

I deleted partitions and formatted my SSD Drive

windows loaded on to the computer fine and ran, also activated

now the problem was every time I went to update the driver whether it be Lan Wi-Fi video card or USB 3 drivers the system would crash

they would crash when I manually install them

if I let windows 10 download the updates for the drivers it would not install them they would just show the error code and not be installed next to the driver update listed in the automatic update screen

I have updated my bios to the latest as well

I have formatted my computer every time with the same results of the system crashing sometimes with a blue screen error but mostly a sound loop image freeze

I performed the update overclocked with a stable overclock and with all setting set to default out of the box

I have went back to using Windows 8.1 and the funny thing is I still can't update my drivers without the same issues happening after formatting my hard drive

I have also rolled back my bios drivers for my motherboard

I am at my wits end

I lost count but tired to reinstall windows fresh 10 time or more now...
8.1 pro is back on but still can't up date interface drivers with out craching and burning.

please see below list of system components

First set - 2nd Line (I highlighted the drivers [also line 13] or programs from Intel that are crashing)

Warning 8/12/2015 12:19:05 AM ESRV_SVC_WILLAMETTE 2 (1) ESRV_SVC_WILLAMETTE

This service is directly related to the Intel Management Interface Driver. This is part of your on board chipset driver package. I had the same issue. First of all, Windows 10 drivers suck. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT let Windows Update install the drivers. Use only the drivers provided ASUS, don't even directly download it from Intel.

To fix this first error you must uninstall Intel Management Interface and Rapid Storage Technology (if installed), and I would remove my chipset drivers for good measure.

Here is the problem with Windows 10. Uninstalling drivers doesn't always work properly. So...

1) Uninstall From Control Panel

2) Verify that the driver is gone (after reboot) through either the Device Manager, Services, or Start Up (inside Task Manager). If it (Intel Management Interface) is still there find the appropriate drivers and services and disable or remove (latter recommended) them ALL. See if that clears up your first problem. From the Device Manager you can uninstall just driver packages only (every single Intel driver and there are a lot of drivers), which may stop that crash.

If you do a clean install, don't just remove the partitions. Use Windows Command Prompt from the installation media DVD or USB. To do this boot the Image. Once Windows loads into the first screen

A) Hold the Shift Key and press F10. This will bring up the command prompt.

B) type diskpart

C) Once Diskpart loads find your appropriate Drive (usually Disk 0). To list all disk drives type list disk. (Take note of the far column, GPT and if there is an asterisk there)
D) If you don't know which disk drive is which type select disk 0 or the appropriate drive number. Type List partition. This will show all the partitiions on the drive. Look for the multiple partitions Windows installs, the System and Recovery partitions are your biggest clue.

E) To completely clean the drive back to factory you must use the clean command. Example: Type clean disk 0. This will remove everything including boot record info that is NOT removed by just using the Installer to delete the partitions.

F) If you drive is in MBR format instead of GPT you cannot take advantage of UEFI, which is the current standard (MBR is Legacy). To change the partition table Type convert GPT. Reboot and go into BIOS setup, and change the boot options from Legacy to UEFI. Boot into the Installation media and just install on the newly cleaned drive.

G) Once MS OOBE (interactive GUI after reboot) change a couple of settings. First, DO NOT ENTER A PRODUCT KEY when prompted. Windows Activation Servers have an exact record of your PC and will enter the key for you in the next couple of days Here is the article from MS. Second, don't automatically install updates until you have finish installing all the Drivers for you PC. After you have finished then change it back to auto update. This will stop the MS drivers from installing first which somehow corrupts the Intel drivers. After you reboot then turn back on updates, and you can rest assured that the MS drivers won't be installed.

First Problem Solved.

Next (if the problems persist)

If you keep having issues, like I did then:

I) Go Control Panel -- Power Options -- Change plan settings -- Change advanced power settings -- PCI Express -- Link State Management. Turn off this setting (also fyi, unrelated, hibernate is terrible for SSDs so disable that and System Restore as well if you have a SSD for you C: drive, but make sure to backup your Files and System Image to another drive)

II) completely uninstall all the AMD drivers. Use the AMD Removal Tool. Then remove Raptr manually from the Control Panel -- Programs and Features. REBOOT

DO NOT let MS UPDATE install any drivers after removal. Either have every thing ready so you move faster than Windows update or temporary turn it off.

Install the latest drivers directly from Shappire not AMD.

When installing, do a custom install. Deselect AMD Gaming Evolved App and ACP App. These cause Windows 10 freak out my HDMI connection and I would have random blank screens and hard resetting was my only option. The Gaming Evolved App, or Raptr, crashed all the time for me (possibly due to the Recording Screen Option?). ACP is for the Sony PS4 standard, Tru Audio driver. This one killed me the most, likely due to this error in my event log.

After going through all of these issues and fixes I haven't had a single crash, except, when I tried to install Raptr and ACP App. Further proof in my mind.

Hope all of this info helps you fix your issues!
