    Yeah ... I actually expected them to say that 1601 was compatible with both boards ... especially since (if everyone is correct) the two boards are identical with the exception of the add-in card. Still, even as of today, the /U3.1 support page lists only 1502 as being the latest bios for that board. Strange.

    I can't figure that out either. ?? Makes no sense to me since it's the exact same hardware.

    There seems to be no difference between R5E and R5E/3.1 board except the USB 3.1 bundle add-in card. you will be able to check more detailed specification of two board, so I assume that If there is any reasion not to upload 1601 bios in the support website of R5E/3.1 by ASUS support team, It might be issue of USB 3.1 bundle add-in card which has not been provided for normal R5E board. we better expect Chino or Raja to clarify about it for us

    Yes, so, i always update lastest version. i don't care what new. So, all work every day. Every time i turn-on Mycomputer, Click and Click Check for update on every Application. all work fine.
