IRST driver and Windows 10, is it needed?

Is the IRST driver for Windows 10 needed? Also why are there no standalone SATA drivers for Windows 10? Or is that included in the IRST maybe?

If i'm remembering correctly IRST is more for those that are running RAID configurations?
