G20AJ GTX 760 not detected. Am I SOL?
Hi there! New to the forums as I just found it. I'm hoping someone here can help me, since I've done everything I can think of.
My problem is that after upgrading to WIN10, I found that my GPU was no longer working. I checked device manager, and had to click show hidden to find it. At the time, it said "Error Code 43". I found online that it was suggested I completely uninstall all drivers, then reinstall. Well, after I uninstalled them, I couldn't reinstall because Nvidia "could not find compatible hardware". Checked in device manager, and it was now "Unknown device". Okay, time to reinstall windows. Now its not shown at all, so here is what I've done to try and get my GPU back. When plugged into the GPU, I get a ''no signal'' from my monitor
--Reset CMOS.
--Try to boot from PCIE.
--Tried to manually install the drivers, Nvidia still won't allow it.
--Reseated the graphics card thinking it might have come loose somehow.
--Reinstalled WIN8.1, checked and still not there. Back to WIN10
--Tried manually searching for new hardware, nothing.
--Tried my ASUS "install disc" nothing shows up on it.
--Chatted online with ASUS support. nothing new.
I'm out of ideas. Am I stuck with a $1,300 Intel powered gaming PC?
EDIT: Also, on the inside, there is a cable that's just chillin' not plugged into anything.. right? Cause I can't find anything for it to go into.Last edited by chaddiz; 08-25-2015 at 12:05 AM. Reason: Update

Hi guys, since this has gotten a couple responses, I'll share as much information as I can on how I fixed this.
So after trying literally everything to get my PC back up, I eventually got it to not post AT ALL.
So as a last ditch effort, I took it to a PC repair shop that diagnosed it for $35.00.
I told them I suspected it was a fried GPU/AndOr Motherboard. The dude said to give him a couple days and he will get back to me. He was also VERY excited to "finally see a G20AJ" in person and have the fortune of working on one.
Anyway, he called me and told me that it is up and running. I asked him what was wrong and it was a "very complicated BIOS issue"
I was running 703 when it went downhill, but since returning from the shop, the PC hasn't had any problems at all. So, there it is. If you don't have a warranty anymore, and all else fails, take it to a trusted shop and explain that other users have reported BIOS issues.
Hope this helps someone, sorry it is not quick a how to/FIX!Last edited by chaddiz; 09-29-2015 at 01:53 AM. Reason: Grammar.

You could use Rufus at http://rufus.akeo.ie/ to make a DOS USB key drive for booting, then put the Windows 10 compatible bios installer and BIOS on the USB drive and update it.
That would be a complicated BIOS issue.
Updated note: I just updated the Bios to 703 by downloading the BIOS for Windows 10 to a USB key drive and using the F2 boot menu boot menu option to upgrade BIOS -- and the BIOS found the 703 BIOS (unzipped and copied to the USB drive) file on the USB drive itself and could read it. No need for the DOS at all. Have you tried this?Last edited by wherrera; 10-09-2015 at 10:43 PM.
