    Yeah just two days ago I officially removed the side panel, now the unit sits on an angle inside the tower cabinet in my desk. If things get really hot (something I only notice in frostbite engine games, Battlefront, Battlefield 4, Dragon Age inquisition and Hardline) then I also use two USB fans i bought of amazon.

    What is the peak temp of your GPU without those fans?

    Mine is 71 when I play those games you mentioned above with maxed out settings

    I can keep anything below 70 degrees without putting the fans higher then 65, if I crank Battlefront of Battlefield 4 to like 150% upscale (fps still stays nearly 100) temps can rise to upper 70s.

    well thats good. 70 has no bad effect on the GPU functionality.

    Yeah I generally feel more comfortable keeping it in the 60s (C)
