I need help regarding hard drives, G750JZ boot issues

Hi!

So I've been in property of Asus Rog G750JZ for a year now (almost) and everything is/was fine until a month or so ago when it suddenly said boot drive cannot be found. I was like ok..? and open the back panel to remove the drive then put it back in (I have SDD for OS and I also have HDD). Then later (Today) it said that again. This time I switched places SDD with HDD and vice versa.

So I am wondering what could be causing this issue as both drives seems to be working perfectly fine and this started happening somewhat a month ago.

My theory is that there are some updates or programs interfering with proper work load of the drives. Maybe a corrupted update? I am clueless.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you!

Does the BIOS recognize the SSD, and is it first in the boot order? Are you seeing the message directly after POST, and as soon as the OS starts to load?
Laptop: Asus G750JZ
OS: Win10

1) Yes
2) Yes
3) There is no post, it appears directly after the Asus logo
4) OS doesn't load as it says OS not found.

you may have a corrupt boot manager, does the BIOS show the OS drive as boot drive?

Try using the Windows recovery options by hitting f9 at power on.
Here's a web site that will help you with this process>>>>>
eightforums-automatic startup repair windows-8/8.1

Hope this will help you my friend?
Good luck, and good gaming.

Everything works fine now as I have switched the HDD with SDD. So yes it does show. But I am wondering as to why that happened in the first place and simple switch of caddies fixed the problem.

Yeah, I would just want the reason so I don't duplicate it or prevent it from happening again.
