Previous build information (list details of parts):

Will you be overclocking: Not sure if this will be needed for development.
Any motherboard requirements (no. of USB, Xfire/SLI, fan headers):
Extra information about desired system:

Howdy, I have been saving up for the ASUS RoG G751JY-DB72 ($2,149.99) laptop but now I am thinking
about building a laptop because friends have told me that it would be cheaper and better. I have no laptop build exp
at all. So a guide would be a bonus if you guys know one fit for me. My question is would it really be cheaper/better to build
instead of buying?

Hi I think it's most important to choose nice processor and graphic card first.
I7-4870HQ and GTX980M... Actually GTX980M is best graphic for laptops than any before.
16GB DDR3 is enough. Other things are less important because you can add bigger SSD later, you can even buy without SSD if you can't afford now.
But CPU and graphics are most important, don't go on 970M.
I'm sorry because I didn't saw earlier to help you.
Off course don't forget ROG rucksack or Shuttle Backpack.
