I don`t think it does because I am sure I have read that the Intel RST RAID ROM does not become active unless you're running your system in RAID and so the updating of the RAID ROM & EFI SataDriver in the modded BIOS won't make any difference if running in AHCI mode.

I loaded this 1701 and now my system is only reading 8MB of my 32MB of RAM. Any idea what I need to do?

Although you never know what was changed in the bios updates, my guess they only changed some memory rules for all the new memory modules being released that are compatible with X99 and Z-170 boards.
CDRCHOP - I would clear cmos if you did not do that already, does your board recognize all 32GB at default bios settings?

Same, I noticed a marked decrease (around 5-10%) in performance on my Intel 730 RAID 0 setup with 1701.

Do you mean with the official BIOS or the modded one provided by GoNz0?

There shouldn't be any performance decrease with the official BIOS because ASUS has never updated the Intel RST RAID ROM & EFI SataDriver since the board release.

The modded BIOS is best paired with the Intel RST 14.x drivers though it has been said that these drivers aren't the best currently for now for RAID systems and are still needing some optimization and stability work needing done to them by Intel for better RAID performance.

You can see this from the tests over on the win-raid forums, that the Intel RST 13.x drivers still have the best all around and most stable performance especially for RAID systems.

Tired both the new rom doesn't change performance of this bios at all and both suck vs 1502.
