I was tinkering around and wondering, from the bios, bclk is extremely easy to set, stable and allows for a large range. But using the ai suite 3 while in windows, i cant adjust bclk up or down more than 7 or so before it freezes. Can you not have a large variance between what the bios is initially set at and then change it in windows? This is with a 6700k, so as far as im aware, bclk should be separate from dmi and pciexpress on z170 with an unlocked k processor...or is the software also changing/not changing something else unbeknownst to the user that the bios would automatically do? I tested variable situations, starting with a high bclk in the bios and trying to go down and vice versa, adjusting the multiplier for the clock frequency and the cache frequency. Also adjusted ddr4 frequency to keep it within its proper range... any ideas? It seems kind of odd. I know i can just use the bios, but i really want to know why this is happening. Thanks!
