R5E Supreme FX realtek audio 2.1 setup is not possible?

Hi all,

I have 2 speakers (bi-amplified Genelec) and a subwoofer.

I connected the spearkers to the the backside green connector and the subwoofer to the orange connector (making sure I'm not picking up the signal from the central channel).

Then I went on Supreme FX config:

  • If I set the system as "Stereo", then the subwoofer does not work.
  • If I set the system as a 5.1 setup then the subwoofer works while receiving a 5.1 signal (e.g. videogames and movies). But when I listen to the music, only the 2 speakers play.

Note that I do not use an external amplifier because the speakers are already amplified.

I would like to config my system as a 2.1 setup: when listening to the music I would like the bass coming from the subwoofer.

Using Windows 8.1 and realtek drivers. No external audio cards.

How can I do this?

Thank you
