When I go to my device manager, I see this notification for my GTX980Ti under Events, box called information:

Device PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_17C8&SUBSYS_85481043&REV_A1\4&15e7d2ab&0&0010 requires further installation.

help? what installation, just updated to the latest Windows 10 drivers?

suggestions anyone?

Stop Windows 10 from installing drivers and go back to your latest stable ones. Scroll down to "Disable Automatic Download of Drivers from Windows Update".

hmm I just installed this new card and this driver.. I don't think windows update have anything to do with it since there is nothing to update?

perhaps remove all drivers and reinsttall them again?

Windows 10 will install drivers over yours if they are more recent, and most of the time the install will go wrong somewhere (happened several times to me). In doubt like you said, use DDU in safe mode to clean the drivers and re-install them but be warned that if you do not change the settings Windows will crap up again.
