Sponsors need value and return of investment. With LAN sponsorship you generally need a viable business plan and to show it has worked before. If you are serious about even a 90-player LAN then charge people for entry. With that money you can build the event - if it's good enough people will pay. They need legitimate games to play at all professional LANs due to authentication. If you run the server in your LAN, in most games that requires an internet connection and verification.
