Gl552jx USB Issue

Hi,
A couple of weeks ago I purchased a 552jx. Just yesterday, one of the USB 3.0 ports on the left hand side stopped powering Passport USB drives. They get power but it seems its insufficient.

Low power flash drives and independently powered caddies work OK.

Is this a known issue, and is there anything I can do about it?

Got the same problem here, the passport doesn't work on USB 3.0 ports. Though it works fine on the 2.0 one. This is a bit frustrating, the laptop is brand new and this issue makes me thinking to give it back.
So i reiterate your question, can this problem be solved with some kind of software update?
