Gpx3dx, PM cl-albert he can make it a sticky. Good job and will save people a lot of time and aggravation. 8 and 10 are quite different to install than 7 and before. I agree these guides need to be stickied. You can work with them up there. It appears the next Gen 700 and 752 will be in this forum too. Basing that on 552? so this thread won't go down to the lowly Older G Notebook forum for awhile, LOL.

Windows 10 and 8.1 will run without the recovery partitions, but the PC will be upset if you crash/bsod and there is no recovery/repair image to look at.
Also, the standard partitioning for Windows 10 during the install won't create a partition big enough if you do want to include a WinRE/PE.

If anyone has problems where Windows can't find a recovery or repair tool, try increasing the repair partition to 1GB, if windows originally set it to 350/450mb
and also make sure that the install copied WinPE to the partition and that your recovery wizard is pointing to that image.

i follow this guide and make clean install windows 10 to my G751jy every thing is good but i have problem to make diplay setting work with %125 size some text fuzzy in windows setting show 100% recommended but its small icons and text

any one know how to fix that ???

about text size issue:
I think it has something to do with missing NVIDIA drivers.
don't trust MS to do the work for you... goto official nvidia site, download& install the latest geforce driver.

Also, the smaller the resolution you use, the less you'll be able to enlarge the "size of text, apps, and other items" in the windows "Settings" under "System->Display".

full hd (i.e 1920x1080 ) and I use 150% windows text size. ( only 100% is "recommended" by the OS... but **** it, i'm its boss )

Hello,

Please Check your laptop manual, under the bios section, for a "CSM" switch (enable|disable).
If it exist, you can switch between UEFI & MBR boot method, I.E CSM disable & enable accordingly.
I can advise you to spend 2 min reading THE STICKY THREAD "Guide: How to install windows 8/8.1/10 The proper way (UEFI based installation)" - before making changes to the bios, as you cannot boot a windows that was installed using the OLD depracated BIOS method with the UEFI boot method ( CSM Disabled ).

You're right...
The thing is ( i might need to rewrite it above ) that when you let windows format for you, it creates the "windows RE tools" useless partition.
But i'll upate the post with the exit command, and emphasize the alternative you mentioned as an "easier"/quick way.

Please enter that link and look under " Version (Status)" column, and look under the version of each row/product rather it is "(Latest)" or "(Previously Released)" -> which is self-explanatory.
Also, even though intel don't publish INF v10.0.0.27 under "Windows 10" -> in its README, Windows 10 stated as supported.
nonetheless, some places in the net, mention there are more updated drivers, but if you try to search them up in intel's 'download center' you just can't find them.... -> intel: job well done !

Please don't forget that this thread & guides are meant FOR ANY ROG LAPTOP ( potentially correct also for laptops which aren't ROG serie as well ) -> thus different one driver might be correct for the G751... but for some other laptop, maybe not -> that is why I put a 'general' links to those *recommended* drivers, which are search query from the HW manufacturers like intel, NVIDIA etc.. ( so you can pick the correct driver for your HW and OS version/type ).

Talking about drivers in general: I've learned through the years, that the latest, isn't always the stable or faster.
But since you've asked about intel's chipset specificly, I think it will be wise to quote "Fernando" from www.win-raid.com

The "Intel(R) Chipset Device Software" (formerly named "Intel(R) INF Update Utility") seems to be the most overestimated "driverpack" for Intel Chipset system:
Only a minority of the Intel Chipset users know, that the on-board Intel Chipset devices are working fine without any "Intel(R) Chipset Device Software". In various Forums you can read the advice to install the "latest Intel Chipset Drivers" as first and much important step after the installation of any Windows Operating System. Otherwise the users will never get a stable and performant system.

The reality is quite different:

1. Although the Device Manager shows the information files as "drivers", the "Intel(R) Chipset Device Software" doesn't contain any real driver (= .SYS file), but just textmode (= .INF) files, which
   
   • a) let the OS know, that for the related Intel Chipset Device a driver is neither needed nor available and
   • b) gives the user the information, that the related device is an Intel one.
   
   
2. None of the Windows Operating Systems needs the .INF files for a proper functionality and a good performance.

If you don't believe me, please read >this< official statement from Intel regarding the importance and the function of the "Intel(R) Chipset Software Installation Utility".
These are the main statements done by Intel:

• The Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility is not a driver and does not include drivers.
• The Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility gives the product name for the piece of hardware. This information allows the operating system to display the correct name for that piece of hardware in Device Manager.

My conclusions:

1. The installation of any "Intel(R) Chipset Device Software" or their included INF files is only useful, if the Device Manager shows a yellow mark at an Intel (VEN_8086) device with a "missing driver".
2. Since the newest Windows Operating systems are able to detect and to name by their own all Intel chipset devices, which were on the market at the release of the OS, there is usually no need at all and no benefit for the users to install or update the Intel chipset device INF files (often named by mistake "Intel chipset drivers").
3. Only users with a brandnew Intel chipset (from 8-Series up for Windows 7, from 9-Series up for Windows 8/8.1) or a very old Windows OS should install the latest suitable "Intel(R) Chipset Device Software" to get rid from the "missing driver" message within the Device Manager.
4. Forcing the installation of a not required or already present Intel Chipset Device INF file (e.g. by using the -overall command) doesn't make any sense, but will blow up the user's registry and the Windows\inf folder with garbage (unused resp. unusable oemxx.inf files). Furthermore the forced installation of unusable drivers generally may overwrite actually in use other drivers and that can cause degraded performance or a lack of features.
