Installing Windows 10 and Sata Issues

Okay, so I've upgraded to a Maximus VIII Hero, with a core i5-6600K, 16GB DDR RAM and GTX 970. Windows 10 Home 64-bit is the OS.

Getting Windows installed has been a chore, but finally successful.

    Mostly.

I'm having weird SATA issus, that SEEM resolved at least for the moment. Reinstalled Win10 after getting the boot problem fixed. Crashed on first automatic restart with a MACHINE_CODE_EXCEPTION error or something like that. Rebooted manually, finished installing. BSODed again "DRIVER_IRQL_FAILURE". Installed SATA drivers from mobo disc, BSODs stopped. Finished installing drivers.

Went to Asus site, got the latest SATA drivers, it offered Repair and Uninstall. I chose Repair. The moment I clicked on it, entire system froze. Had to manually restart. Seems okay now.

Haven't had a chance to try a massive file transfer from one of my data drives or any heavy gaming to put the system under some stress. Was mainly wondering if anyone else had similar problems, and if they found a fix?

That's a Windows 10 issue. Microsoft put out a patch for it a while. Type Update into Cortana's search box next to the start button, click on Updates and Recovery and click on Check For Updates. Run it until no more updates for Windows are found. Then open the Store, click near your login picture and again check for updates until none are found.
    That should fix your issue.

Sweet! I'll try that when I get off work.

Is there any way to get some kind of updated install media? The initial install is a @#$% stil. I tried making a new flash drive with the official tool, but apparently it's still the launch build.
