Accepted the "upgrade" to Win 10 from 8.1.

Everything ran noticeably slower as soon as it was installed. Even my ping rate was affected, doubling in most cases: a rate of 19 or less is now 35 or more using the highest speed cable connection comcast has to offer.

Became fed up with it and allowed it to revert back to 8.1.

This did not repair any of the speed problems.

Now It will no longer read external hard drives, 500GB or larger, connected thru a USB port.

In addition half of my "fn" keys no longer work: fn F3, F4, F9, C and V do nothing. The mouse pad is now permanently on which is incredibly inconvenient.

Every internet page, whether running Google or Firefox, has a 20+ second lag when it first opens.

The system is almost as bad as my old P4 running XP.


Running 8.1 on a G750JW.


I didn't receive any discs with the system or I'd do a clean install.

Any help would be appreciated.

(New to ROG but an old hand with Asus MBs.)
