    Asus G551jw optical drive to SSD upgrade possible ?

    just wanted to know can i upgrade my optical drive to SSD ? is it possible ? and

    does the SSD will get full speed on optical drive?

    any suggestion ?

    Yes It's possible. I can't really say with sure that the Sata port on the ODD is Sata 3 as the other near the memory sticks, but I can say with certain that if you for example, were is the HDD that came with the notebook insert there the SSD and then "transplant" the HDD to the ODD place you will get both worlds (mechanical disks are slower that SSDs, so even if the Sata port on the ODD place doesn't have enough speed to fully use the SSD capabilities, It have more that enough for the HDD).

    Yes .But transplant the HDD to optical drive slot and put new Ssd in default HDD SLOT.
    this will work best.
