    GX700 benchmarks

    This GX700 prototype is a 4K notebook (i7-6820HK, 32GB DDR4, GTX980 8GB, 512GB SSD).

    English subtitles available:

without docking station / with docking station

    Fire Strike: 4648 / 10342
    3D Mark Sky Diver: 6400 / 26610
    3D Mark 11 extreme settings: 2561 / 5620
    Catzilla @ FHD: 4264 / 13557

GPU peaked 58-60 °C with the docking station.
No information about temperature without the docking station.

    What do you think?

Though I was excited about this model, the number doesn't seem to be good at all. without docking station G751JY performs way better, with a docking station there is less than 20% gain in performance compared to G751JY.
And that is what NVida stated a year ago GTX 980m performs 20% less the GTX 980.

It seems GX700 makes sense only if you have a pile of docking stations (one at home, one at work, one at school, ...), which is pointless, unless you really hate keeping multiple desktop pcs interconnected and updated. Without counting we don't know if they will sell docking stations without notebook (do you remember the G751 M.2 SSD adapter?).

I think availability of UHD displays is low, so no G752 UHD and probably no GX700 UHD, resulting in an increase in performance. FHD/UHD machines, with the same hardware, can help to extrapolate the increase in performance.

I was thinking the G752VY could be a flop, because of the GTX 980 notebooks, but the immobility of GX700 will not affect G752VY sales (unlike 980 MSI and CLEVO).

thank you for finding the video with English sub titles and posting them

A light bulbs goes off in a designers head and they came up with this thing...Will that even fit on a standard 21"-24" deep counter top with room for forearm rest?

I applaud innovation and design challenges and this set up certainly wins the "I did it cause I could" award. From a practical standpoint do they really expect to sell a lot of these to the general public?
Especially with the price being what it is.

All the reviewers sites look at this set up with question-marks going on in little bubbles over their heads. Some of them even strain at writing a wait and see approach to this, some of them think that its an alien(ware) parasite attaching itself to the back of an otherwise nice looking gaming machine.

I'm sure this setup will wow the specs off other systems but it has such a limited market it has to be a promotion gimmick to bring attention to the brand.
