sound cutting strix card
Hi, same sound cutting issue for me, I want to share my experience for the dev.
I'm not sure if all the problem I'll say have already been told but I'll try to be as accurate as I can.
Also I'm french so maybe my grammar is not perfect every times, so sorry about it.
On internet, it happens randomly, sometimes it doesn't sometimes it's a living hell.
I've tried some videos and musics players, and the issue seems to happen with youtube, deezer, daylimotion. I have no problem with vimeo (I've tried only with google chrome and mozilla).
Sometimes it happens when I come back from the office or any software to my internet browser. I also think it happens less when I'm on the web page of the video I'm listening or watching.
For the softwares, it seems that I don't have any problems with my games or all the softwares I use for work, like premier pro and after effect.
When I watch a movie the issue is not happening except with VLC, with is a living hell as well, and rarelly with the "Movie and TV" sotfware of windows 10.
I've tried all the drivers, I also put my strix card on the last pci express slot, and tried all the differents rates and bits I can try on the "Strix sound card" software (could it be a issue with the software itself ?).
My config :
Windows 10 pro (x64)
MB : ASUSTeK X99-PRO
GC : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
Proc : Intel Core i7 5820K 3.30 GHz
Memory : 32Go DDR4 1007Mhz
Sound Card : Strix sound card pro
I hope that will help, I'll wait for a clean update of the driver witch will fixe that very frustating issue.

I've continued to discuss this problem with our audio team and they're really having a difficult time replicating the issue because this issue occurs only for some people and not for all. Everyone that's having this issue, we need your help to use a software called OBS (https://obsproject.com/) to help record the issue for us. This way will give us the best chance of figuring out what the problem is. Thank you all for your help.

Driver conflict??
I'm not sure that I have solved that problem or not. (My windows 10 pro 64 bits)
In my last version of Asus z170 pro gaming ( 1105 ).
I uninstalled ASMedia USB driver. And then it was working very well. No more sound cutting.
But today, I have upgraded the bios to version 1206. My strix raid pro stops working.
I have to reinstall ASMedia USB driver to make it works. And the sound cutting also comes back.

Motherboard update
A little update for me, I tried to download and install again all my motherboard's drivers (just to be sure) and now it's seems to work perfectly.
It has been 2 days and I don't have any problem with sound cutting even with vlc (witch was the most chaotic).
I don't realy know why because I've re install all the drivers, but it seems to work.
BUT !
I have a really weird electric interference sound all the time (almost inaudible when I'm on internet or the office, but very annoying when I want to launch a game.)
And I don't have sound on any of my steam games.
I don't know if those two issues are from the same driver problem, but I think I have to post it here aniway.
My motherboard (for the driver update stuff) : ASUSTeK X99-PRO/USB 3.1
Hope it will help.

I've got good news and I'm hoping the solution will fix the issue completely for everyone. Please note that this issue doesn't occur for all users, instead it seems to randomly occur for certain system setups. We've spent countless hours testing this issue on different systems and for the first couple of months we weren't able to replicate this issue. With help from many users, we finally located the issue and we discovered that it has direct relationship to Perfect Voice and Noise Gate.
One of the solutions is to disable both feature in the software but instead we recommend that you don't because both features are quite useful. The other solution is to manually adjust the dB setting for both Perfect Voice and Noise Gate. For one of our systems where we witnessed the sound cutting issue, we left perfect voice at the default levels and adjusted Noise gate around the -37dB to -45dB range to fix this issue. We recommend trying the -45dB to -60dB range first and then adjust from there.

Bahz, does this cutting problem happen (on some systems, of course) only with DLX or with Soar and PRO too?
What would happen if you install Soar/Raid Pro on your problematic build/OS configuration?Last edited by Manul; 03-21-2016 at 04:52 PM.

We tried Strix SOAR, RAID DLX, and RAID Pro
Can anyone confirm if adjusting the dB setting for both features have helped at all?
