Will there be any difference in the voltage readings between what you set it at in the voltage and what it shows in say something like CPUID HWMonitor (the VID number)?

There will always be a slight variation between the voltage you set and the voltage read by CPU-Z. That's normal.

    What about the RAM?

All the guides talk about cooling and the CPU, but never address RAM.

What ram did it have installed and what type?

I suspect the 1st step to overclocking is to set up the RAM and verify its working?

I think all of my problems with this build are RAM related.
    --> Patriot Viper 2x8GB PC4-17000 2133Mhz PE000480-PVE416G213C4KGY

My system stability has never been great and the bios was set up by a professional who just loaded defaults.

I set Load Level Calibration 5 which helped stability a lot for a while.
I then manually selected 2133Mhz which helped for a while.
I finally upped the VCCIO and system agent to 1.08 volts which helped for a while.

I updated the BIOS from v1601and v3401, and performance went from marginal to dismal.

Windows would not run (false SSD corrupted message) and posting was iffy with numerous weird q-codes like 55, no memory installed.

MemTest64+ now showed that the absent memory had multiple and numerous errors.

    I put in Corsair Dominator 2x8GB 3000Mhz CMD16GX4M2B3000C16.

My CPU is at 4000 Mhz and the RAM at 3000 Mhz and passes Real Bench again.

I really do not understand how the bios handles RAM.
    AUTO-XMP ASUS-XMP STOCK.

How much does XMP STOCK stock, like CPU?
Does XMP ASUS overclock? Is that why the 2133 ram was often running 2400 Mhz.

How did you handle the RAM when over clocking the example.

I had to set XMP to get it to get 1.35 volts @ 3000 Mhz.
AUTO was showing 1.2v @ 2133 Mhz. I guess the Corsair would work on auto.
