Rampage V w/ USB 3.1
i7 5960x
16gb Hyperx Predator
GTX 970 SLI
950 PRO 512mb installed in m.2 x 4 motherboard slot

Just loaded windows 10 x64 and the Samsung NVMe driver. With Magician 4.8 I'm getting
1712 MB/s on Sequential Read
120197 IOPS

1556 Sequential Write
89542 IOPS

CrystalDiskMark is around 1500ish on Sequential Read,

Do I have something configured wrong? I unplugged all storage devices for the time being. Thoughts?

Bios reset got me to this

Any idea what is causing the low read IOPS?

Hey,

Do you have something in the bottom PCIE slot ?. Did you leave the bios setting for the M.2 in the auto mode ?

I went down to one video card and pulled out my usb 3.1 card. This resulted in no change.

I reset my bios and it worked, back up to 2550mbps. Success!

However if I use Asus's utility to overclock automatically everything goes downhill and goes back to 1700. Any ideas?

I have the samsung 950 Pro installed on my R5E but can't find anything about M2 in the bios. I am using the latest bios too. What am I missing?

I read the manual but it seems I do not have that option. Strange

There is a manual?!!!

Just kidding--I know that some of us do not take to reading much.

With today's multi-media options, I bet someone carve out a nice little niche for themselves by videoing all the steps in high-end PC component manuals. We are not stuck in the 20th century anymore with only cryptically worded books from which to learn things, someone can just layout the brass tacks of PC minutia on screen.

Only 30 years ago, "Chilton's Auto Manuals" were like gold to the common person needing to work on their own car. In just a few years, we are going to be able to put on glasses with 'heads up displays (HUD)' on them and see PC parts of such manuals virtually moving into place before our eyes so we can mimic motions we observe immediately afterwards. Who needs to read anymore?!
