That is exactly my concern. I dont have much experiences with RMA of any kind, until now I was mostly lucky and I wonder how those things are handled by companies like Asus. Bahz recommends replacement but I'm afraid both shop and later Asus will be testing the card, figuring out what is wrong etc. and weeks will pass. The card seems otherwise fine, meaning there are no issues with games, performance etc. just the buzzing noise but honestly Bahz answer kind of confused me, it is still safe to use it right ?

Yes it's fine to use, you're not the first one to post about coil whine. Bahz is just looking out for you and wants you to have a non buzzing gpu as she does actually care, she can make sure you get what you want is what she's more or less saying.

Here is an article you might find interesting.

Thanks for that link and help overall, I will hopefully test another 970 with my pc in upcoming days and report back results in here. I also want to be completely happy with my card and honestly performance and for example fan loudness are amazing with this card but somehow even if I have my headphones on, playing something and cant hear buzzing I just know its... there and getting rid of it will be final step to fully enjoy this great card

Yep it's your decision and I understand what you're saying, a gpu that doesn't buzz will give you peace of mind.

Let us know how your friend's gtx 970 tests in your pc.
