Asus ROG G750JY-T4050D and Samsung 950 Pro SSD

Hi guys,

I have an Asus ROG G750JY-T4050D Notebook that comes with 2x128 SanDisk M.2 SSDs and a 1TB SATA normal storage disk.
I would like to buy the new Samsung 950 Pro 512GB M.2 SSD to replace the 2 SSDs of the laptop and I was wondering if it is compatible with the M.2 slots of the notebook. I tried to search the internet a little bit about information but unfortunately I couldn't find a definitive answer, only something like 'it could work, try it'. Seeing that the 950 Pro is a little bit expensive I wouldn't want to get stuck with a disk I cannot use ... so I would appreciate any help or info related to this issue !

Thank you !

Why not going with Pro or Evo series? They are still quite fast (500MBps) and cost quite less.
Unless you're dealing with 100GB of data daily I really see no point in going for Samsung 950 Pro.
You won't see any difference in real life performance.

Hi,

I have the G750JY-T4036D model with exact HDD SSD configuration as yours. I've done a bit of research on the compatible SSD and i found out that our notebooks can only take 2260 NGFF m.2 sata SSDs.
O opened it and realised that it has only one screw hole, at 60mm distance so Samsung won't fit perfectly because they make those SSDs only in 2280 form factor (80mm length).
I've seen people still using Samsung but also used duct tape to hold it into position. I don't know how heating will impact that so...
I have ordered 2 Crucial 500GB 2260 double sided.

This is the best option for the moment :

Crucial MX200 500GB M.2 Type 2260DS SSD (CT500MX200SSD6)
