Yeah, I guess actually reading is too much trouble.

Ashendie: 'Well I've had mine for a few days now and It is ALMOST perfect."
Nano2K: "The PG279Q I got has no apparent defects, I can't see any lightbleed (at least nothing like you see on smartphones and tablets), there is some glow when you have a totally dark background."
    Whyscotty: "Loving mine "
Jock7: "I see nothing wrong with the monitor and if there is then I can live with it."

As I said previously, many users on the thread are very happy with the panel. From your description I was expecting to read through them with everyone super pissed about how bad it is and everyone returning it. Yes, there seem to be some issues with backlight bleeding, and many are returning them, but it doesn't seem to be any where near as bad as you made it out to be.

Couldn't help but laugh at MadKnight's post on overclock.net though, "Im honestly wondering if i should take a shiit in the monitor box before sending it back to asus so they know how it feels like to open up a pile of shiit"

I'm leaning toward the S2716DG or the XB271HU (if it doesn't have the issues that the XB270HU and PG279Q have).

The fact of the matter is, almost ALL units are shipping with defective panels. You found a whole 4 or 5 people that actually got normal panels and are not returning them. It's quite amazing people are trying to down play this issue on this website when in fact people are in up roar about this fiasco every where else.... it makes me wonder if some of you have an agenda....

Saying it more often and more passionately does not make it more valid or more true, lol.

I'm guessing the good folks at OCN must all have something in common. Perhaps they all somehow bought units from the same bad batch. Or perhaps they are just the most unlucky people on the planet. Or perhaps they all have unrealistic expectations. They evidently seem happy to remain unhappy because nobody seems to willing to simply swap their "bad" monitors with any of the competing products available at the store.

I know I would get pretty flared up after spending $1000 buying something which turns out flawed or junky. But I'm thinking that most PG279Q customers are quite content with their products and don't feel especially compelled to register their complaints online.

    Kroth,

The difference is I provided evidence where people purchasing these units are getting defective panels, you on the other hand are just making things up out of thin air. It's called ignorance and everyone here sees it in you.

I agree with spoonhandle, it is not as bad as Justin Gold thinks. Justin, I am really sorry about your monitor. I hope you get a good one. You can send to ASUS and get it replaced.

    Justin,

I'm sorry you received a bad monitor. As someone who has also had issues with an ASUS monitor in the past I can sympathize. However, you need to be careful not to state your opinions as fact. Making up statistics or making statements about testing procedures and stating them as facts is what is known as slander. These are facets of ASUS's business that nobody can know unless they work for ASUS. ASUS does not publish RMA numbers and it does not publish QC procedures so do not present your theories on these topics as facts.

You are welcome to be angry, I'm not saying you can't be. You are welcome to share your opinions and experiences. You are welcome to link to the experiences of others on other forums. You are welcome to provide *factual* information like the number of people who have reported problems in other threads. Just don't post slander. It's wrong and it only weakens your argument when you have to make stuff up to support it.

I removed the slanderous portion from you OP. You may continue to discuss this topic and post updates, even if they make ASUS look bad. Just stick to the facts. If you can't stick to the facts this thread will be locked and you will be banned.

Here a shop that uses a statistic of units send back under "bewertungen" the pg279q has a 6% RMA with 330 units sold from the shop.

@Xeromist, that's a spot on explanation. Everyone gets angry when they receive something defective, but technology is technology and it's bound to happen. Being angry is OK but seriously we shouldn't try to make up stuff to try and support our own statements. If you received more than two replacements and the issue is exactly the same then for sure that's absolutely unacceptable.

Oh ya because a random website based out of a 3rd world country is evidence of customer satisfaction compared to REAL people in a REAL online community clearly showing the opposite.. You guys are getting pretty desperate to post something like that. It's quite amusing the weak arguments.
