Dual FirePro W7000 versus Single ASUS GeForce GTX 980 Ti STRIX

HI All,

I was wondering if anyone might have some input or recommendations
regarding GPU'S for my workstation.

Thanks to the help of some kind folks here I've ended up with with the following:
ASUS Z87-WS
Intel 4770K 3.5
Rip Jaws 8gb x 4, F3-12800cl DDR 1600 CL 10-10-10-30, 32GB Total.
Sea-sonic 750 PLATINUM PSU
AMD FIREPRO W7000
AMD FIREPRO W7000
2X SAMSUNG 840 PRO
7 TB. INTERNAL, EXTERNAL STORAGE.
Water cooling via Exos external rad.

Spacepilot Pro
Logitech G620 mouse
Logitech G510s keyboard
Seiki 40" 4k monitor and AOC 27"

I have the Firepros set in crossfire mode. In running realbench i don't see any (very little) difference in scores
if i have them crossed or not. So I'm thinking about getting a ASUS GeForce GTX 980 Ti STRIX to replace them.
No idea why.
So my question would be, am I better off with one Asus Strix GTX980 TI or 2 Gtx 970 in SLI. This is in regard to cost/performance.

This is mainly a Solidworks box. Just a bit disappointed with the graphics end of my build.
Average realbench is about 75000. OC'ed to 4500.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Kutter

Hello kutter

The firepro w7000 is a workstation gpu, when you mention 970 sli and 980ti they're gaming gpu's so they are actually in two different categories.

In this particular video it shows the 980ti faster than two 970's in SLI.

http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=gtx+970+sli+vs+gtx+980ti&qpvt=gtx+970+sli+vs+gtx+980ti&FORM=VDRE...

I would think the 980ti would crush the w7000's in crossfire for gaming.
