Sometimes this can happen if there are problems with the memory. I would check in the BIOS to see how much memory is showing up there. If you see 8 there and 4 in Windows then you may want to run memtest86+. If you only see 4GB in the BIOS then you'll want to remove and reseat both modules, testing one at a time if necessary.

Just bought this. Gonna wait 'til it comes in and then add some more love to this machine:

Gonna test out AC3 for the time being as I wait for the new graphics card to come in.
I will be taking pictures of what is inside of that monster, and take new ones with new hardware (the before and after) soon...
Stay tuned...

If one of my Corsair Vengeance memory sticks are defective, and if I even can't run memtest86+ on BIOS, how should I deal with this issue? Three Corsairs run perfectly except for one... meaning I can run 12 GB.

Are you still having issues? If you've confirmed that the stick won't run in any slot then it doesn't matter if you run memtest. Just get on the Corsair forums and talk to the RAM Guy if you need to but it should be a straightforward RMA as long as it's within the warranty period. They have always been good about RMA when I needed it which is one of the reasons I recommend Corsair.
