The MOD works very well in my system, both cpu and memory OC.

At stock, I have the crashes we talked about, cos of cache degradation asking for more voltage.

If your system is stable with your current BIOS, there is no need to touch it.

If you are happy, dont change.

If you feel you wanna try something else, go to 1801 MOD.

    Hello guys!

im not happy with Bios 1801. i still prefer 1701.

1801 raised my temps like +5c/+10c and checked the bios and compared Auto/XMP voltage.

    Auto uses (STOCK) ''No Overclocking''

    CPU Core Voltage = 1.040 / 1.056v
    CPU Cache Voltage = 0.809
    CPU input Voltage = 1.792

    On XMP (Stock) ''No Overclocking''

    CPU Core Voltage = 1.156
    CPU Cache Voltage = 1.152
    CPU System Input Voltage 1.824.

And on Bios 1701 i had lower Voltages on XMP! im using Auto for now! and waiting for another Bios update and hope they will fix this, it's litterly overvolting my CPU with XMP!

normally i had temps from 34c under load! and now it's wooping 40C (room temp around 22c) under load with the new bios in XMP! im dissapointed Asus...

Mod or not its still the same bios with just updated ROMs which wouldn't affect voltages at all.

    I tested 1801 MOD and it's the same (voltage, temp) than 15xx, 16xx or 17xx (with 5930K)

Well 40c under load is still very low, just my guess but since the release of the Z-170 platform there is now a lot more DDR4 modules on the market, the No. 1 compatibility issue on both X99 and Z-170 is RAM, so upping some voltages a tiny bit and possibly relaxing some memory timings is probably the stability improvements your going to see in any bios upgrades on X99 until Brodwell-E CPU's are released next year, if you are not experiencing any issues there is no need to upgrade your bios every release, just my opinion
