    PCI-E Slot Setup Help.

Hello, I’m looking for some help setting up my RVE PCI-E Slots. I have the following hardware.

    Intel 5960x CPU
    32Gb's Corsair Dominator Platinum CMD16GX4M4A1800C16

    2x Nvidia GTX Titan X
    SoundBlaster ZXR
    Samsung 950 Pro M.2 512gb

Does this PCI-E configuration look correct?

    Nvidia GTX Titan X PCIE_X16_1
    SoundBlaster ZXR PCIE_X4_1
    Nvidia GTX Titan X PCIE_X16/x8_3

    Samsung 950 Pro M.2

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    THX

That's fine. PCIE_X4_1 shares the bandwidth with the 2 USB 3.0 ports next to the LAN port and SATA Express E1. Depending on the cards, X4 will disabled both of the USB 3.0 ports and SATA Express E1. The soundcard will only disabled the SATA Express E1. Just a head up in case you're flummoxed why they're not working.

No problem. If you need to use the SATA Express E1 you can move the soundcard to the PCIE_X16_4 slot. PCIE_X16_4 is reduced from X8 to X4 if the M.2 slot is populated. In fact, the popularity of M.2 SSD Gen 3.0 is making the PCIE_X16_4 slot a handy place to put the soundcard/add-on cards.

    Merry Christmas
