Thanks for the info cl-Albert. I'll return my sm951 and get a M.2 SATA3 drive to try. Thanks.

I can confirm that GL552VW-DM205T and Sata M.2 Evo 850 work very well.

    Hi All

I have a tricky question. I got the SSD for the GL752V and I was wondering if there is any issue in using M2x3mm stainless steel screws for holding the drive. I am worried about the conductivity of the screw may damage the motherboard or anything.

    Regards,
    JORGE

    some light on this matter

Thanks in advance for your help. So i bought a GL552VW-DH71, and i want to upgrade with an SSD as my main OS drive, but i can't seem to find definitive information on the type of SSD that will work... I'm hesitating between two models :

    NVME : http://www.amazon.ca/Samsung-SM951-1...128gb+m.2+2280

    AHCI : http://www.amazon.ca/Samsung-SM951-1...9QZ7ZR6EARFS1W

One last quick question : After doing a clean windows install of the OS on the SSD (or a OS migration), i understand that i will need to remove the HDD to be able to boot from the newly installed SSD. Does this mean that i will need to format the HHD with an external hub in order to reinstall it in the laptop and use it as mass storage ? Thank you everyone so much for your help !
I have an GL552VW-DH71 laptop and was looking for an SSD upgrade since mine didnt come with one. I bought my laptop in amazon US and I read this thread about the compatibility of both SSDs. I can certify that the Samsung SSD 860 EVO 250GB M.2 SATA 3 Internal SSD (MZ-N6E250BW) works perfectly on the laptop which leads to belive that if you are looking for an SSD upgrade for this laptop you have to get a M.2 SSD SATA drive and not the NVME I think NVme was a little too new when these laptop came out so I think only certain models are compatible with the NVme drives, the rest are SATA compatible. I thought I should share this. cheers
