hello, any help is greatly appreciated. i've read a lot of conflicting info on whether this will work or not, but i would like to know if i can get 120hz or higher via HDMI 1.3 (apparently this is the output version of hdmi for the g74sxa1?) at 1280x720 resolution.

I am perfectly comfortable playing at 1280x720 or lower, and in-fact, the only game that i'd like to receive the 120+ hz benefit from is CS:GO, which i specifically only play at 1024x768 and get around 200+ fps.

unfortunately the g74sxa1 only has VGA and HDMI ports from what i can see.

so the question is, if i order one of these 144hz monitors (like the ASUS VG248QE, or the AOC G2460PQU) will i be able to take advantage of the higher refresh rate? another question i have about higher refresh rate monitors: do they cost any more performance to use? so say for example with the normal screen on this laptop i get around 200fps, would my fps drop below that from using the external monitor? thanks for any responses, i'd like to figure this out once and for all, and any help is great.
