RAMPAGE IV FORMULA - NVMe BOOT

Hello all,

I have a Rampage IV Formula and I recently bought a 750 PCIe drive. I am running on BIOS latest version (5001) and after trying a bit I wasn't able to boot from the drive.
What I did was install the drive on a PCIe x8 slot and then boot from the Windows 10 USB stick. The drive shows properly on windows setup but it displays a warning about BIOS settings that windows won't be able to boot from this drive.

Has anyone actually managed to boot from a PCIe SSD drive? Do I have to purchase a new motherboard?

Please advice.

Thanks in advance,
G.

You can mod the BIOS with NVMe modules from an X99 board and it will boot in UEFI mode with CSM disabled. Works perfectly on my Rampage IV Formula and Samsung 950 Pro NVMe.

Hi, I know this is an old thread. *I want to flash my bios so I can boot from a NVME hard drive. *What are the correct steps for this? Thanks.*

I found this ->

Remember to use flashback method.

I will test it myself in the next day or two.
