I am still hanging on to my 2011 release of G74SX laptop (3D version with NVidia 560M) which I am using for development work. With 16GB RAM and SSD drive upgrade, I find it a very reliable workhorse with more mileage still in it. The only downside is that except for a single port Fresco Logic USB 3.0 port (also unreliable!), the remaining 3 are all USB 2.0and find this less ideal for what I want to do. This is not Asus's fault, rather USB 3.0 in 2011 was not fully adopted.

My question is this: Is there a G74SX motherboard upgraded version with all USB 2 ports replaced with USB 3.0? If such motherboard exists, I think it's a worthwhile upgrade. Along the same logic, do motherboards for subsequent models, such as G75, fit into G74? I am looking into every option to hang on to my reliable friend, G74SX.
